N95 Clock Reset

Hi all,

I've got an N95 RM158 running V21.0.016 and every time I turn the phone off it loses the time and date which is very annoying.  I was told by my network provider to update the ohone firmware to the latest version.  According to the tool on the Nokia website the latest version of software available for my particular phone is 20.0.015 yet I am running 21.0.016!  This seems a bit wierd.  I'm not sure if its related to the lost time and date issue but does anyone have anything to suggest.  Incidently my wife has an identical phone purchased at the same time.  She has V20.0.015 and has no time and date problem.

Can I revert to an older version and if so how as I can't work out how to get the Nokia software updater to do it.  Any help would be greatly appreaciated!!!

Re: N95 Clock Reset

nope there is really no way to go back, did you check your time zone in the time and date settings if it is correct. if not then the only thing i can think about is the bug that has been going around s60 devices with the new firmwares, don't turn off your phone, put it on charge overnite, it will not hurt the phone, it will be charged in the am and you will not have such issues.

You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me !

Hi,

Is there some sort of internal battery that keeps the circuits under power when the mobile is switched off?

One of the bugs introduced with the latest FW 31.xx.xxx is that under certain circumstances the date jumps ahead 2 days, some time after the mobile has been powered on.

But in this case it sounds more like it "loses it's memory", like an old main board, where the little cell battery has drained. So if there is something like a little auxiliary battery, let the next Nokia Service Point have a look at it.

If you put it on charge overnite you might want to select the "offline profile" to avoid any disturbance.

Greetings.

Re: N95 Clock Reset

Yes the phone has an internal battery to keep the time and running. This is why you are able to set an alarm and switch off the phone, yet the alarm will go on when its time.

If your phone keeps asking you to set the time and date every time you switch it on , it is most proberbelly the internal battery is not functioning well. You may try to do a software upgrade using NSU available from http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/n95-update-phone

Alternatively you may also try by keying in *#7370# while on standby.

DO NOT FORGET TO DO A BACKUP AS THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING FROM YOUR PHONE.

If both this options does not help then you may wanna get your phone to the nearest NCP available at
