I also have the same problems with the display like you all.

This model is not officially sold by operators in the Czech republic (and maybe the operators know why!), only by small dealers or electro-markets.

I am now dissapoited from this purchase,because it is not cheap in comparison with Sony Ericsson,Samsung,LG,it has no wifi,no GPS and even faulty software.

Really bad decision.

Nokia today is not wat it was earlier.

Sending SMS by 6600i slide is practically impossible.

NOKIA READ THIS FORUM, OF COURSE, BUT THEY HAVEN'T STILL SOLVED OUR PROBLEMS.

I have the same problems, I'm going to sell the 6600i slide that I have had the misfortune to purchase.

Of all, the bad reception is my biggest problem, shame, nice ergonomics, just poor firmware!

This discussion has been going quite a few months now, nokias input = 0, thanks nokia!!!

I've had the 6600i now for a few months from CPW and think it's one of the best handsets I've had. I have the latest firmware update and I've had no real probs with it.

I wonder really if anyone from Nokia cares about this people. I have of coarse the same problem with all of you and the blank screen is really annoying not only with the pictures but with any use of the phone. I am thinking really to bring it back to the dealer or report this to any organization I can for faulty appliances.

I would not expect this from a company like Nokia... Looks like the software for this phone (6600i slide) was not tested AT ALL before was out.!!!

Sorry but you answered me in the same way some weeks ago.

So I repeat what I wrote: my 6600i slide has the latest firmware but also a lot of problems.

I'm glad if your phone is good but is useless that you repeat this thing ever and ever.

I pay a phone and I want a WORKING PHONE.

And I'm not alone, as you and Nokia can see.

Also useless and offensive is the e-mail of the customer care, received today, when they say that the phone is having a world success and that is a confirm of Nokia's quality !!!!  

 

Please the owners of the faulty phones to continue to write here and to Customer Care. 

What about a class action ?

I'm a customer just like the rest of you. I purchased the phone sim free as i don't like to be in a contract. I suggest you take yours to a CSP or back to the place you purchased it.

Although you say there are a lot of complaints the few that I've read on here on the forum are not that many.

Well, I think that the Customer Care should tell me what to do with a phone which has bugs.

They never told me to bring my phone in a  Nokia Point, to repair it.

Few complaints, really ?

They are statistically significant because only a little percentage of customers with problems write here

I know this advice might not apply with your network but mine allows you to keep the phone for two weeks and if you are not entirely satisfied they will replace it. I did this last week with a replacement htc device for my partner. He prefers his trusty nokia 3600 slide.

Unfortunately the phone is mine and only Nokia is able to solve the problem. It really seems Nokia doesn't care about...

If I could change the phone, I'd change it the day after I used it the first time.

Please customers with problems with 6600i slide, that agree with me, to click on the Kudos star.

You can put the phone in Camera mode and the back lite will stay till battery flat..

Anyone solved the bugs of 6600i slide bringing it in a centre of assistance ??

I was  informed from Nokia support operator in the last week that they have already a new firmware 36.60 without these bugs and I can download it from Nokia web site.

But there is still only the old version 36.16 !

I called them next day that I can´t download the new firmware,the operator said - you must be patient,wait 1 or 2 weeks.

So we have to wait again...

Nobody knows how long time.

Hi all,

I bought this 6600i slide as I liked the steel case and the design this phone has. I was not after an intelligent phone though. Anyway, I have just downloaded the new FW 36.60, tried how it works with the display (for I had the main issue with the AF function not working on my camera) and guess what - it works. So far, no issues with a poor reception as reported above and no real issues woth other features (besides a slow internet and poor menu - but with Series 40 SW you should not expect any more any less).

Well, this is great but the v. 36.60 is not yet available in Italy.

I downloaded the new Ovi Suite but it offers the 36.16 only.

Where are you come from ?
