nokia E65 con't connect via USB cable to computer

i have tried everything.
when i connect it to the computer and go into pc suite
to get connected it just keeps trying to connect and nothing happens
it used to work but now it doesn't
please help!
i tried to back up some stuf a while ago and then i restored it onto the phone now it just won't connect.!!

HELP.

more info needed, suite version, cable type, what is visible in pc device manager when you connect phone, what is visible in phone screen when you connct cable, etc.
